Fabric Covered Bead Necklace Tutorial

>> Monday, June 28, 2010

I love creating these pretty little beads to add a romantic feel to any outfit.  I just love a long necklace...

You'll need-

3 wooden beads with large center hole
3 long scraps of fabric less than 1/2 inch wide
large needle (I used a plastic canvas needle)
bit of ribbon
fabric glue (hot glue works too)
22 inch chain that you can seperate in the center

I love this necklace! I saw it the other day - and have been wanting to make one since. I take that back - I tried the other day - but, my beads were too small (they look like yours, though!) and the fabric kept getting stuck or something...it was tulle. Maybe I'll try another material...

I can't believe no one commented! It's so cute.

I'm glad you liked it! Make sure the beads have the wide hole (about 1/4 inch wide), I get these at JoAnns...they come in a value pack with a bunch of bright colors and sizes, but all the inner holes are nice and wide. Tulle is pretty thick, good luck with round 2!
